• Flat blade to rest the wedge on while applying. (XActo knife, box cutter, utility knife, flathead screw driver)
Mix water and a shot of soap in a spray bottle. Use the mixed solution to thoroughly
clean the surface of the areas were the decals will be applied, being certain to remove all grease, wax,
tar and dirt.
Dry with a lint free cloth. NOTE: NEVER USE AMMONIA BASED CLEANERS (i.e. Windex). It will out gas for a couple of weeks and create bubbles under the decal. This will result in accidental decal peeling.
When installing, be careful not to stretch the vinyl by pulling on it or lifting to often. If it stretches it will not fit properly.
DO NOT REMOVE THE BACKING PAPER AT THIS POINT!
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS FIRST BEFORE YOU INSTALL
SO YOU GET AN IDEA OF WHAT THE STEPS ARE AND MAKE NO MISTAKES.
Clean and wipe application surface thoroughly with application fluid.
Spray application fluid all over the windshield in order to slide around visor strip with ease once applied. This will make it easier for you to get a leveled fit on your windshield.
Slowly peel the wax backing sheet fully exposing the adhesive side and spray application fluid on this adhesive side. You will then place the vinyl on the wet windshield (adhesive side down). Slide the decal around in order to get a good level placement on the windshield.
Once you have aligned and placed the vinyl the way you want it, you will now need to spray more application fluid on the vinyl as shown in the image. Make sure to leave excess vinyl passed the top and sides of the windshield. This will help ensure you have a clean fit when you need to cut your vinyl with a razor.
Now make sure to squeegee out all bubbles and water from you vinyl strip. Squeegee from the center out to ensure that all bubbles and fluid have been removed. The adhesion process will now begin.
With an "Exacto Knife" or Razor, slowly cut along the edges of the vinyl as shown in the images below. And remove any excess vinyl. Now, squeegee out any more bubbles or fluid that are still there. If you notice any bubbles, just get a pin and poke a tiny hole in the vinyl, then squeegee the air bubble out by rubbing over the hole. The vinyl will naturally close the tiny hole that was made.
YOU ARE NOW DONE!
Let your decal sit for 24 hours before washing and waxing, or driving in inclement weather (rain/snow/freezing temp).
If you see any big bubbles then just lift the
vinyl back up, spray with fluid and start to squeegee.
You can also remove bubbles using your thumb to
apply pressure from one side of the bubble and with your XActo knife punch a
small hole in the other side of the bubble. Force the bubble out with your
Removing Air Bubbles:
It is possible that you will see some air bubbles under your vinyl after you
install it. Small bubbles will disappear within a few weeks under the sun. The
larger bubbles can be removed by using a pin to puncture a whole on the side
of the bubble and then use your finger to remove the air bubble.
All of our vinyl is designed so it can be removed with out damaging the surface. Removing vinyl will not damage your cars paint job.
• For optimum results, surface temperature should be above 50 degrees F. and below 90 degrees F. If necessary move vehicle to a location where the temperature can be within the removal guide lines. A heat gun can be used to warm up material before removal.
• Make sure to clean the vinyl surface before removal.
• Peel off vinyl with your finger nails. Do this until you remove all pieces of the vinyl. (Heat source may help)
• Wipe off the surface and you are done.
You can use Rapid Remover Adhesive Remover to wipe off any residual adhesive off the surface.
